Slideshow

When someone drives one screen for a room: the Reposar Method's rules for the slides, and presentation mode, which turns any page into them.

The Reposar Method's rules

The Reposar Method is a presentation design method, kept with its app in the TheReposarMethod repo; the app scores a deck against it, slide by slide. Its color rule is Margin's in one line: black type, gray to push things back, one or two colors to bring things forward.

Words and structure
  • Every slide's headline is a full sentence; the headlines alone tell the argument.
  • Text is broken for sense, with no lone word on a last line.
  • One idea per slide; a diagram is built up over several.
  • Sections, a contents slide, and an end with a recommendation and next steps.
Type, color and the page
  • One family, two weights, three sizes; lines of about 60 characters.
  • Every figure captioned; credits small, gray and at the bottom.
  • A page number and a running footer on every slide; no logo on every slide; no background patterns.

Presentation mode

Every page of this guide, and any app page that loads v2/present.js, can be shown as slides: each section one slide, in the slideshow's three type sizes, with the bar at the foot.

  • Start: the button beside the light and dark button, Ctrl+Alt+P, or ?mode=presentation in the address (with #slide-3, #last or a section's id to start there).
  • Move: the arrow keys, Space, Page Up and Down, Home and End, a sideways swipe, or the arrows in the bar.
  • At the end of a page, next goes on to the next page without leaving full screen. Escape or Exit ends it on the page you reached.

A slide that holds more than a screen scrolls. That is a sign the section is too long for a slide, and a real deck would split it.
