Decided and open

What TJ has decided so far, and the questions still waiting for him.

Decided, October 24

  1. Corners: C, for now.

Tags and chips 3 px, controls 5 px, panels 8 px. "C for now. will continue to evolve."

  2. Home inside a workshop.

⌂ goes to the workshop's own page, not the explorables index.

  3. The mark.

A Rough Idea's square A in every top bar; an app keeps its own mark as its icon and favicon; the full lockup only for big moments. This site's top bar has it; the apps take it as each reaches its rollout phase.

  4. Exhibit and print.

Both are contexts. Print comes from the books' page system, and the portfolio's format bridges print and its web view.

  5. Case.

Sentence case everywhere: headings, buttons, menus, and now labels, which are small and gray in the text face. Settled with Margin; labels joined it on October 24. Capitals only in the full lockup.

  6. The current item.

A rule in the margin of a list, an underline in a row of tabs, as proposed.

  7. Figures and tables.

As proposed: a 2 px rule above a figure, hairlines between a table's rows. The rule marks where a figure starts without making it a panel, whose rounded corners say "a group of parts"; the row hairlines keep wide rows easy to follow across.

  8. Section numbers.

As proposed: the number hangs to the left of its title.

  1. Icons.

Which direction? Every set in use is under Icons: the portfolio's three drafts, v2's own interface icons, and the sets the apps use today.

  2. Scope.

Does v2 cover chickenshitartist.com and the apps on tjmcleish.com? Not yet.

The canvas still shows the Margin details' options side by side: Margin details ↗.
